According to the releases from MyFWC.com, the Florida Snook fishing season will reopen in the spring of 2014 in both the Gulf state waters and the Atlantic state waters for recreational harvest. However, the open dates are different for each area, as well as the size requirements for keepers.
Make sure you stay compliant with the regulations across Florida.
- Gulf state waters: The spring and early summer seasonal dates are March 1, through April 30, 2014. The area includes state and adjacent federal waters, including the Everglades National Park and Monroe County. A keeper size snook must be no less than 28 inches nor more than 33 inches in total length.
- Atlantic state waters: The recreational season opens on February 1, 2014 and runs through May 31, and includes the FL Atlantic coastal inland waters, Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River.
